My sister just bought one for her 2012 Tahoe LTZ . Works perfect . Swings to the side so easy with 4 bikes on it. We was on the fence for the THULE or the YAKIMA. the YAKIMA just so much simple and more weight capacity . My sister wanted something very simple to operate . I love it! So simple to use.
We put 3 cruisers & 1 kids bike . We used the Yakima pole adapters as well.

We liked the look of this unit and the video makes it look so easy & it had good reviews but there are some considerations that need to be made:

1. The unit weights a tonne. Its fine if you're leaving fixed in place on the car but if not, its not recommended if you have a weak back and a mum will struggle by herself.
2. The nut to tighten the bar into place will leave you with scratched knuckles as its too close to the unit (rookie design error).
3. If you're only using two bikes in most cases you will need to remove the un used U straps (for more bikes) as you cannot fit the bikes over unless these are removed (hence they may be lost)
4. The base unit doesn't consider female or smaller kids bikes. You will need to purchase the 'extras' in the 'tube top'. It only assumes adult male bikes with the base unit purchase.
5. The other 'extra' required is the light mate unit for brake lights and license plate that the bikes otherwise obscure. There is not facility on the rack to allow you to center it on the back of the car. It will be offset, and the Verco straps don't allow for rigidity in its fixing.
6. The ability to extend the arm out so as you can open your SUV hatch is the point of difference however, you still need to be a semi pro wrestler to maneuver it when its loaded

Its a pity as we had high hopes and the rack has so much potential. It still does what its supposed to but its frustrating and there are more user friendly bike racks available.

My SUV has sonar operated auto brake system. Yakima fullswing rack activates the auto brake when I put the gear in reverse. Is there anyway around it without disabling the auto brake system?
