I think I'm fairly decent at axe so here's some things that I usually focus on. First off is aim, always aim. Anything you do in 1.9 PvP will need aim so always work on that. Secondly is timing, you need to base your playstyle off of your opponents. If they play aggressive, you can play aggressive. If they block more, you need to break their shield more. Always look for what your opponent does, enemy predictions is key. The second you think they'll put down a shield, get that free crit. If all fails, just half hit and back off. You need to maximize damage

I think an important skill in 1.9 would be knowing how long the cooldown of a weapon is, so you could get as many hits as possible. Also spacing is a nice skill to have.

I think that movement and aim are the most important at 1.9 PvP (I am talking about axe and sword) because I am not good at other types of 1.9 PvP :)
