TSM CEO Responds to Dardoch, Doublelift and Leena, and Deleted Video

@TSM CEO Reginald finally opens up on everything going on, not only with Leena and the Dardoch clip, but also the "conflict of interest" with @doublelift and Leena, and even the now deleted TSM video. Here are my thoughts about his response.

To add this whole story is a big verification for Thorin and Monte.Everything they've been saying and were mocked about it by toxic tsm fanboys came true.

I'd say Leena is probably lying more than Reginald, she has to say that she does indeed make decisions and has a big hand in the actions or else everyone would assume the obvious (she's President because of WHO she knows, not WHAT she knows or in this case WHO you SLEPT WITH). I dare say she's President more in TITLE only than she is in actual action, decision making, etc. Reginald spilled the beans while Leena has to make herself appear to be more than "I'm just here b/c I dated the owner!"

I highly suspect that both Regi and Leena's statements are/were accurate and reflect different snapshots in time.

Organizations restructure and adjust responsibilities regularly. What's more - it's common for lines of involvement and knowledge to be rather sharp even among people with lofty titles. As an example, my direct boss is both a c-level executive and one of the co-founders of the organization but he recently admitted to not knowing what my present salary is. It logically seems like he *should* have that information and he likely did have that information regarding direct reports as recently as a year or two ago, but the company has restructured and hired additional levels of management. In every job I've had, there have been senior individuals involved in the recruiting or interviewing process that had slight-to-moderate say/influence on the process itself and essentially zero involvement post-hire. So, do Leena's statements from a year ago inherently expose lying? Nope. Does it seem that likely that either of them would go about lying on that topic? Not really.

Many people are up-in-arms about Leena in particular, but there's been one standout characteristic around all of esports and that's a very loose definition of "professionalism". For anyone who's had the misfortune of working large organizations, cube farms, and in fortune 500 cultures, it's often hard to take anyone seriously when they level accusations of unprofessionalism at esports personalities... that's more the norm than the exception. Relationships like this are common enough outside of esports - this is only novel because the industry is almost entirely male at this point. I wonder how many male leaders have had relationships with female streamers/content creators that are hired under the broader umbrella of their organization -- I bet the number is greater than zero and the community essentially doesn't give a shit. This is an industry where respected members of the community have literally been caught masturbating on stream and continue to enjoy employment and some semblance of professional integrity. A little perspective never hurt.

This whole potential "Leena has no decision making power and it changed in recent weeks"-defense also doesn't work because of *what* we heard Leena say during the leak: "It's not my fault, no one wants to pick up Dardoch." This clearly means that Leena was *still* directly involved in trying to find another team for Dardorch, aka directly talking to other teams and negotiating a buy-out. That *is* power over the LoL roster, at least to some extent !

Even if Leena doesn't have final say, she can easily steer negotiations with teams one way or another, either being cutthroat or generous in regards to expecting the full buy-out, different ways she can portrait TSM's and Dardoch's position regarding the buy-out ("Dardoch is extatic to join your org" / "Dardorch will only join if the money is right and he gets better teammates") and different ways she can emphasize Dardoch's (lack of) toxicity.

Leena ****ed up. Not defending her. But i think only dardochs public reputation was damaged here. He's already played on like 6 different lcs teams. 6 teams that already know what its like working with him. He must have done something himself to damage his market value behind the scenes.

My biggest issue with this whole thing is that DL might as well own the LCS team, he has undeniable influence on the president of the company. They essentially gave away a player that was signed to a 3year contract in favor of DL after his worst split EVER. Has probably been listening to all of tsm's personal & business dealings while on TL. Then the icing on the cake is that he is also a VP of the players association.

I pretty much agree with everything you said here, Regi's response was decent but there are a lot of things that don't line up that neither he nor Leena have addressed, it feels like everyone who is talking about this situation has touched on the holes in their arguments but the people in question themselves.

I think Leena comment was tactless, but wasn't anything people didn't think about Josh already. Everyone knew that Dardoch was toxic and unreliable, specially since the documentary "Breaking Point" came out. Everyone knew when Dardoch was traded from TL was because he was broken goods. Was a tactless comment, but is something that many commentators have said for the past 2 years, including Thorin, just little over 5 months ago he said Dardoch didn't learn anything yet and added this about Dardoch: "Dardoch is a player cursed with an ego and an attitude that might slide if you're a Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, the clear-cut best player and with an impeccable work ethic. Instead of being a difficult player to deal with, though, he has become a poisoned chalice pick-up."


Was a tactless comment from Leena, but if it wasn't for the prior "drama" of her being DL girlfriend I'm pretty sure the headlines would be "Dardoch confirmed as still being immature after all this years" instead of all this drama.


And btw, I fully back MonteCristo when he called it a conflict of interest when DL wasn't yet confirmed in TSM and was all rumors. And still think it's a conflict of interest, but this thing with Dardoch is now just bandwagon'ing.

the problem with what you are saying is that because of a conflict of interest we are now in the present situation, when in all reality its a unfortunate mistake, i think you should let this story go honestly cause it simply brings nothing new to the table at this point

Leena can have a say in roster moves and give her opinion but that does not mean she is the one making final decisions. I feel like that is where the confusion between the two statements comes in.
