One of our most underrated wins. The guys from 78-83 were past it, those from 88-91 not yet ready, this was the team that combined two teams and made them a dynasty.
12 flags in my life, (b.1971) can't imagine Dogs or Roos, we all entered same year.
But Saints, foundation team that never won a flag in my whole life. LOSERS, sorry but it's
true

Hawks had a near perfect season in 86.
- Top of the ladder
- Day premiers
- Night premiers
- Brownlow medallist

There also was a Championship trophy at the end of season between all the premiers in all the comps across the country (ie VFL, SANFL, WAFL, etc) & hawks won that too plus also won an overseas carnival.

Love the 1080p mate! Do you by any chance have the last few minutes of the 1987 Round 18 Match between Hawthorn and West Coast?

No mark paid to Bucky at 7.06 in the 1st qtr was a disgrace. Clearly the only hands on the ball and no argument from the opponent. No matter, the play on and slap fwd by Dunstall to Brereton was superb! Carlton, to this point were playing the man rather than the ball. Nothing really ugly but they were more interested in curtailing rhe Hawthorn playmakers than earning a kick. Bucky's kick along the ground for a goal was a rarity back then but a beauty. Tomny Alvin had a great 1st qtr for the Blues.

Bucky inspirational, but Rocket should have won the NSM....He tore 'the Dominator' (lol) to shreds.
