Good info and clear. I bought one from Costco and wish I watch b4 buying. None smelled good and few were soft but didn’t look great. I pick a large one so hope it gets ripped soon.

I guess that I have been doing it right for awhile because I have been going by the smell factor and a bit of squeeze factor. I have never gotten an unripe one.

I just bought one. Never had it before. No dark spots or softness. I just thought it's supposed to be green & a little hard. 🤷‍♀️. How long should I wait

Thanks so much for this! A whole jackfruit is a big expense, I waited too long to open my first one and didn't want to make the same mistake with my second.🌱

If I want to use it for savory dishes, do I still wait for it to ripen?

Help! Mine smelled real good but no “rotten spots”, and there weren’t many pieces inside. 12 lbs, but small pieces and not many of them. Some starchy, some sweet. What do u think?
