Hello and welcome to the first episode of evolution of MS-DOS gaming.

We start in 1982 when games were still pretty simple. Most of them were either text based, monochrome or used (in best case) 4 color in CGA mode.
But there are a couple of games still worth playing here - like a very neat Pacman clone named PC-Man, BurgerTime, Adventure of Serenia (created by Roberta and Ken Williams of Sierra On-Line fame) and, of course, we can't forget the Wizardry 2 by Sir-Tech.

Games are, as always, presented in no particular order.

Have fun and let us know in the comments if you think of any games we might have missed.

At this time, it was common to use NTSC composite artifact color for more than 4 color CGA (for example, Burger Time). At first there was no RGBI monitor, so the original CGA color graphics was via (NTSC) composite video output. This was particularly true of Apple ][ ports.

Interesting list; I didn't realise PC had so many games at the time, I was more concerned about other systems. The graphics on some games looked good.

Wow, that was unexpected.

Really enjoyed that, never knew what the PC offered in 1982.
