I drank like 4-5 sodas a day for years. Doctors said I was prediabetic and can become diabetic soon. I started soda once a day for three days. Then once a week. Now it's been three weeks with no soda.

I don’t recall either of my parents EVER drinking a glass of water. Ever. They both drank Pepsi 24/7… both died a slow death at the age of 70 after years and years of declining health. I’m 53, only drink water, black coffee and various teas. I haven’t been sick since 1993:)

I’m 8 years old and never even had a soda, and I never will! My mom told me how my grandma Jerry passed away from diabetes, he drank soda a lot. Glad I watched this video, my mom was right!

I stopped drinking soda 2 years ago. It was starting to cause alot of health issues and weight gain and now no more kidney problems and im down to 117lbs. At that time i needed soda for the caffeine to stay wide awake and energetic at work.

At 75 I have just quit sodas. As a teenager I worked in fast food, and have continued to drink sodas all my life. I now have kidney disease, and am having tests for liver function. Now that we know the effects and the dangers that are on the horizon I hope young people will kick the habit and exercise more. Your video Dr Livinggood should be shown in schools. With the coke addiction I also had an eating disorder. Finally that is under control too. Let me mention that people should think twice about smoking or recreational drugs. Live a clean life. Laugh more, love more, enjoy life.

I usually drink like 5 cans of coke a day, quit cold turkey 6 days ago, it’s been tough but have little more energy so far. I cut out ketchup also. Thanks for the information 👍

My Mom drank Coke every day most of her life. I remember growing up and she always had a coke. She passed from cirrhosis of the liver and she never drank alcohol only coke. She was so sick the end of her life. It’s a awful way to go.😢

I haven't had a soda since 1998 and haven't looked back. I think that if I still drank soda, I would be in a different situation right now. So glad a friend of mine talked to me about it. I was drinking 2-3 cans a day. Might not sound like a lot, but it was. Thanks for this video!

I’ve been drinking soda everyday of my life since I was 3… I’m 36… today is day 5 of no soda and praying I can end it for good. Headaches are the worst in my life right now. My health issues: I genuinely think I have Alzheimer’s but doctors won’t take it seriously because of my age, heart palpitations, regular kidney stones, joint pain, and low blood pressure, high heart rate, anxiety, and a horrible digestive system. Hoping I fix my health.

Showing this to my husband. He's trying hard to quit. But this helps me explain it to him. We found out that plastic is inside the can.

Wow, this is encouraging. I love soda, which is probably blocking my weight loss goal. I also suffer with autoimmune issues and have trouble controlling inflammation. I am making changes in my diet in hopes to lose pounds and reduce joint pain. After looking at this video I will better control my sugar intake and stop drinking soda. In order to improve my quality of life, I must manage/stop this inflammation.

…thank you so much- I actually believe it or not, was severelyyyy addicted to soda- so much that i was drinking 3-4 liters a day- the acidic burn was so addictive because it calmed me and i suffer from chronic depression- got me up to 480lbs- im down to 420lbs- ive cut out so much- but this video was a blessing because i was thinking that me going down to a mini sprite a day i was doing good, but its time to just cut it 100% out- I’ve definitely come a long way tho- and i too have an autoimmune disease- ive got a ways to go, but im so thankful that ive finally began the change- sadly, our children witness these behaviors, then they began grabbing sodas- both me and my son talked about this clip- powerful video- thank you. truly…

Here in Australia, you walk into a supermarket and the large 2liter bottle is actually CHEAPER than the 600ml bottles at the front of the store in the fridges.
I gas stations, you can buy one 600ml bottle for about $4-50, or two for $7!.
So, i always walk out of these places having bought more than i wanted, because they made it better value to buy more of it. These aren't just temporary offers, but permanent.
It's the same when you buy most foods or drinks:- the bigger portions are better value.
How do we encourage less consumption or no consumption with pricing policies like this in place? It's criminal what these organisations are doing.

My friends wife who passed that’s all she drank was Diet Coke all day . She had rheumatoid arthritis bad . Took lots of prescribed meds which side affects lead to seizures and put her in a coma . She come out of it but never the same . Walking she was in such pain with swollen and inflamed joints 😢. I wonder how much the side effects from medication and the Diet Coke played a part . Thank you for video it’s inspirational for all of us on our health journey

My 91 old mother consumes a small pepsi every day and has for 50 years. In addition, snacks on small candy bars. She lost 4 inches in height, bent over from osteoporosis and has leg cramps at night. Also in stage 4 kidney failure. Her mind is sharp and has made the decision to continue what she enjoys.
I haven’t had soda in 30 years, exercise daily, and maintain a healthy diet. Pray for minimal bone demineralization as I age !

Edited to add: this is coming from an American and thank you for reading

I agree to an extent. Yes soda pop is horrible for you but so is the majority of American made food. This is a great video to start the conversation on how American food is really made! Unfortunately a lot of American food is made with extra chemicals and preservatives that aren't needed, just added to "enhance flavor" and stretch out the shelf life for as long as possible.
One major example I can think of off top my head is red dye 40 it has a laundry list of health concerns but it's still in American food. We could use Cochineal bugs as a natural way to dye food red, but Americans get freaked out because it's a bug and peta would get all up in arms because it's a bug. You can make a fizzy drink similar to a soda pop with fermentation something that our ancestors did. In all honesty it comes down to big corporations saving money by filling our food with things other than food.

I love Coke! Having said that, I am aware of how bad it is for you. I have been soda free for a month now and interestingly enough, I don't really miss it. I haven't completely eliminated sugar from my diet, but the elimination of soda represents a significant reduction in sugar intake.
