This to me was the most emotional Raw of all time. We literally saw live Ric Flair building his confidence back. The emotion on his face when HBK was speaking to him, that was all real.

Even here far past his prime and he still effortless dances circles around the roster of the time and makes you care about what should be a random throwaway match on Raw. Ric made everything feel important made every match/angle/feud feel like it had STAKES involved.

When Ric was giving Hunter that pep talk you can see by his eyes Hunter was getting emotional yet he was getting hyped and motivated at the same time. Football teams should hire Flair to do pep talks before the game starts so they could get hyped the fuck up.

Flair’s prime was a decade before my time (I’m an Attitude Era kid, Ric was already in his early to mid 40s) but even seeing Ric’s work from 1997-2008, he’s on the Mount Rushmore of promo guys.
