I felt a sense of sadness at 7:30 at the end of the text’s “monologue.” I interpret the speaker of the text being the game’s developer who wants to have a relationship with the player, but has to accept the fact that the developer and the player don’t personally know each other and will never personally know each other just from the player playing the developer’s game.

The developer doesn’t know anything personal about the player except for the player’s settings preferences. Personalizing the settings is the only way the player can communicate with the developer, so that is why the developer cares so much about the player setting the correct time. When the player sets the correct time instead of leaving it as 12:00, the developer feels validated and feels the player contributing to the relationship he desires. When the player doesn’t set the time, the developer feels upset that the player doesn’t want to reciprocate the relationship. The developer can’t hold a conversation with the player because the player can only choose yes or no.

This reminds me of Davey’s game The Beginner’s Guide which also has the theme of validation.

There's more dialogue for setting the same time twice in a row if that time ISN'T 12:00. Like, if you set it to 3:03 the first time, then 3:03 the second time. I haven't explored every combination of this myself, but it's neat.

When that time screen appeared, I already had the feeling it will be related to the game in some way for some interactions... The game could simply read your Computer's/console's time anyway, so no need for this setting to begin with, so that made it suspicious and I wasn't disappointed.

On another note: Maybe add some indicators next time when a "new" variant is shown... If it wasn't for me knowing the stuff already (to some extend) would I've been confused as to what dialogue is part of the current and what is part of the new one...

I believe there is one where if you set the time to a custom one twice, then set it to midnight the third time around, you get a dialogue story not seen in this video.

I set the time correct both times and I really didn't expect to get a thank you from it lol, I thought it was weird that they asked the time in the first place but I guess it's good to know that there's some settings person that takes in account whether you set the time or not

Problem is I set it to 12:00 because it was actually 12:00 and the game said I didn't even try to change the time, so they missed that case

I stopped watching at 1:02 as to not spoil the game. First time playing the game. Now I have a choice right or left door. Game suggests I go left. I think I'll play this once following all suggestions and once doing whatever I like. I ignored the clock.
