The octopus is the smartest creature in the ocean. As a diver, I see them occasionally and if you look into their homes (dens) in the rocks you can sometimes see how after they eat their shellfish, they stack the empty shells in the corners of their homes. They stack the shells biggest to smallest inside of each other.

These animals are so incredibly intelligent. They have the capacity to figure out and pick locks, recognize specific individuals etc. This one is a big guy. Im glad they let it go!

My husband was a commercial fisherman out of Alaska and told me octopus would come up sometimes. He said he liked to look into their eyes and how smart they are.!
