6 Epic Formations The Best Players Use | Art of War: Legions

I asked the best players in Art of War: Legions to share some of the formations that they use and luckily were happy to do so. So, I want to give a big shout out to the Royals clan for hooking us up with some great formations and making this video possible.

This video is a list of formations used by the best players in Art of War: Legions that can be used in the arena and on level 6,000. There are tips for free to play players and advanced players with strong armies and level 15 heroes.

Pretty much every AoW-L youtuber - Top tier troops are the legendaries - Demons, Beastmasters, Totems, and Golems. Next are the other single unit troops - Yasha, Knight, Ogre, Soulhunter, Viking, Mages, Scholars.The odd 9-unit troop (mainly Assassins, Paladins and Undead Soldiers) are up there, but the single unit troops are best.

Most actual top players - Hardly use any single units. Assassins, Paladins, Archers, Harbingers, Pilgrims, Undead Soldiers make up the bulk. Witches, Bandits, and the odd single unit makes up the rest.

I was stuck on level 4192 for three days and about 60 failures, never getting past 100 enemy fighters.
I used a formation that was a mix of evilest oz and burping and was finally able to clear it.

how bout some general tips on how the formations work, do's and don't instead of "do this with a fuckload of units you don't have"

Thanks for the video. Still in the between stages of phasing out the weaker troops and collecting the better ones but I finally have a few level 8 troops, handful of 7, and not enough Demons, Paladin's or Undead.

Thank you! I was stuck at king level being beaten by lower level armies. Watched this video and kinda mimicked the first formation with my own tweeks. Using gems as it is last day I easily made conquerer level in 5 battles. Tytyty

When do you consider rarity over star level? Like when do I stop using a 5-8 star bandit and use a lvl 4 meteor gollum. That's just an example

Thank you for the video!! With this and the troop video I was able to break into the top 10, 000! I was loosing half and now I'm winning all of them! It was frustrating because I have some high-level troops just not put in the right place!

I'm getting success by putting rusher troops like orc hunters etc on the 3rd row and putting all the tanktroops as front lines so the tanky troops will reach the Frontline faster and support the rushers

Ive had most success putting the 9-unit troops as the front tanks, and single-unit troops as the rear tanks. That way, the enemy assassins waste their killer AoE nova on single unit troops, while your heals and paladin shields cover more units.
Currently using:
Front 2 rows - 9-unit tanks (also have my demon and 2 witches in here so they get into the mixer quicker.)
Next 2 rows - Powerhouse AOE DPS units (fire/ice/priest mages, bombers, catapults, archers)
Next 2 rows - Single units tanks and legendaries
Back row - Assassins (I put them here so enemy assassins warp into empty space and cant immediately stab my ogres/golems).
Hero - Davison 4 for most battles, Hohenhiem 5 for headhunts, Diana 2 for cerberus hunts.
Wins most battles, except those against people who have coined their hero to stupid levels.
