What I'm taking from this is that being included as a "Rising Star" by Merlin is the kiss of death for a player's career

Andy Cole at Newcastle was only 21 when the season kicked off and was about to make his Premier League debut... he scored 34 and won YPOTY.
Sol Campbell was 18 before the season started and had only played one Premier League game. He went on to play 503 and won it twice with Arsenal.
Robbie Fowler was 18 pre season and had never played Premier League football. He scored 12 that season and eventually 163 in 379 PL appearances.
Gary Neville was 18 pre season, only played once in 93-94 but went on to play 400 PL games and win it 8 times.
Ray Parlour was 20 and had only played 21 Premier League games prior to the season. He went on 385 PL appearances and won it 3 times with Arsenal.

5 U21 success stories that played in that season :)

What a great video. The 1994 album was the closest I got to completing an album. I believe I was 23 stickers away. Got, got, need!

Lol at Shrippely, all sounded pretty good, until he exposed himself 😂

Impressive how Neil Shipperley gradually morphed into Neil Ruddock as his career progressed.

This also brings back memories of Sensible Soccer. Foggart and Shippley were good in that.

Jamie Forrester, Darren Caskey and Darren Eadie were fantastic for my legendary Newcastle team in Championship Manager.

First time this channel popped up for me.

I subscribed as this brought back a lot of nostalgia.

Being on 95!

Injuries the common theme here. Was at the game Ian Selley broke his leg….heard it go.

Wow, I'd forgotten about the cover of this album (and the 95 one you briefly showed) that's unlocked memories I didn't know I had. Thanks for the video!

As much as I hate modern day PL, as much I do love the 90s english football. So much atmosphere, aura and well, nostalgia. Look at all these jerseys, they‘re beautiful!

Life fucking sucks when you cannot find missing stuff. For example, my very own Merlins 1993/94 Premier League Sticker Album.I have the 1994/95 album but for the life of me I don't know what happened to the 93/94. It's at times like this that I absolutely do NOT care for family members. The amount of my stuff those assholes have thrown away good grief.

The worst thing that can be done to a young footballer is to call them 'the next big thing' or 'a rising young talent for the future'.

I love you could easily pick any 5 lads commenting on here and they could just chat away for hours about 90's footy 😊 Premier league, Match of the day/Grandstand, Football Italia, World cup 94 times

You know you’re getting old, when you’re watching a rising star’s video, who are now 50.

Shipperley thought he'd avoided the curse, but it got him in the end.
