About Kolukkumalai: Kolukkumalai is a small village/hamlet in Bodinayakanur Taluk in the Theni district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is home to the highest tea plantations in the world with the tea grown here possessing a special flavour and freshness because of the high altitude. It is situated near Munnar.
Kolukkumalai is only accessible by jeeps because of the rugged terrain. Walking up this route is not permitted. Jeeps are available from the town of Suryanelli and it takes you about 2 hours to reach the drop-off point after which you trek! The trek is about 1.5 km and is an easy one to do.

Though this location is situated in the Tamil Nadu but can only be accessible from Kerala State.

Kolukkumalai Sunrise Jeep Safari Charges: INR 4000, i travel with group of other 5 people, so the fares got divided among 6 people including me.

This place is pure heaven. You can also opt for Meesapulimala trek in Munnar. It is the second highest peak in South India. The trek is super beautiful with rolling hills and rhodo valleys. At the highest point, you can witness many peaks including Kolukkumalai peak and Tipada Malai and has similar spectacular sunrise views.
