Hornby 00 Gauge Live Steam! - 1,000 Subscriber Special!

A special running session feautring a Hornby 00 Gauge Live Steam Mallard to celebrate the channel hitting 1,000 Subscribers!

It's time for another special video and in this one I'll be running the most unique loco in my collection! Back in 2003 Hornby made these fantastic little 00 gauge Live Steam models and I'm lucky enough to own one. While they're incredible models they are tricky to drive and are completly unlike a normal model steam engine in every way. That said I wanted to share this with you all as a thank you for the channel hitting 1,000 subscribers - I've been holding onto this one for a while so I hope you enjoy it!

Great fun, I remember when they first came on the market, my local model railway shop had a couple of the Mallard sets, but out of my price range. I have seen the 00 Live Steam guys some years ago at the York Model Railway show, wonderful to see them in action. Also got to see the tiny T gauge for the first time too.

Hi I just wondered how much maintenance they need as I really want to get one. If I got one it would be from ools pre serviced and also how often do you top up the oil. Thanks

I have one passed on by a widow, but there was no oil in the package. What do you use for suitable oil that I might be able to get in Canada?
