Electro Voice EV DS-35 Overhead Mic Test

Just some simple grooving in the Berklee practice rooms trying to get a decent sound with just a mono overhead mic. The microphone is a vintage electro voice from the 70's that I gaff taped to the celling.

I own this Mic. I also don't have the clip for it so I Gaffer taped it to a Mic stand, I was thinking about using it as a Hi-Hat Mic. It Sounds Great on your Kit for just one Mic.

I've got this mic..does it have a bit of a crunchy sound close mic..or is that overdrive summin else..mines a bit battered so wondered if thats the mics natural sound
