Since filming this video I have now moved on to using the Salifert profi test kits but I wanted to give a fair and honest review of the API saltwater Aquarium Master Test Kit
This kit is a simple beginners test kit which can test for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate levels in the water along with PH levels of your water, API saltwater master test kit directions can be difficult to read and understand but i will break down the step by step procedure to achieve accurate results.

The reason the line is that far down on the tube is because you must look at the meniscus of the water. (The curve of the water). The true amount the test tube holds is equal to the bottom of the meniscus

These test kits are “ok” to say the least. Not really the most accurate but definitely give you good ballpark of where water parameters are at.

I just got back into the hobby after a 12 year hiatus and I’ve bought the Hanna checkers. And I’m blown away! There’s really no color guess work. Also, I’m colorblind and I no longer have to ask the wife to give a helping hand 😆

I’m liking your videos! Keep them coming!

I only have one API test which is Nitrite. I really like the simplicity and I do believe it to be quite accurate. Glad the mark on your syringe is also too low for 5ml 😂. Nice parameters. Tank is looking well mate for that reason.👌

Acetone or rubbing alcohol can help clean out the tubes, we used them in O-chem all the time and it evaporates fast so it is sure to be gone by your next test

For the fresh water ammonia one goes cloudy as well. I use a bit of kitchen roll, damp and then dry shoved in and swirled tends to clear it.

Nice review matey. Test kits are a very personal thing I think. I use salifert on my Fluval evo and King British test strips for my daughters tropical tank. Both work great. I really like the water Box tanks though, especially the big ones!

Where are the fish?!? 😱😱😱 😂 Also I wouldn’t drink that Jack Daniels... looks a bit iffy.

This kit looks exactly like the freshwater version. Is there something different about the solution in each bottle of this kit vs the freshwater version ?

Look like you’re using protein skimmer and it fits. How protein skimmer is that? I’m using Fluva ps2 protein skimmer it doesn’t fit well

They are OK while cycling the tank but I wouldn't use it after that salifert is one of the better tests

Really that easy?
The fresh water API tests, especially ammonia 2 and nitrate need to be shaken and banged for a minute

I use tap water to clean the tubes I dont think it matters to clean those, as long as you put saltwater from tank to test it

i think your nitrate is fine middle or high is fine than nothing. thats a sign that you have a cycle.

You may want to get a bottle that have toxic solutions instead of Jack Daniels glass in case you have friend that like to drink.
