In the Philippines, there is a thriving black market that sells babies. Many women who are living below the poverty line and cannot afford to raise a child are making the difficult decision to sell their babies.

Just putting this here for everybody piling on the mom before they watch the video: she DID try to do contraception, but her doctor wouldn't let her get ligated because he thought she was too young and should have more babies, and her implant failed because it wasn't put in properly.

If the babies were being adopted into a good family and a better life then yea I'm all for it but I also can't help to think that there could be more sinister things as to why someone would 'buy' a baby online ☹

I'm finding it very difficult to be upset with someone who only makes $5 A DAY! Selling babies is obviously not a good thing, especially when you start talking about "underground markets" and such. But I'd be lying if I tried to tell you I don't understand. And let us not pretend that adoption - at least in the USA, and ESPECIALLY when surrogacy is involved - isn't essentially buying a child when you start figuring all the exorbitant fees and other charges not directly related to the child. I'm so sad that women and families in the Philippines have to resort to this because they just can't afford to feed themselves and their already born children. What an impossible
