US aircraft manufacturer Boeing is facing fresh questions over product quality after the door of one of its 737 MAX 9 jets ripped off mid-flight. No one was seriously injured, but it prompted the US aviation authority to ground 171 planes pending inspection. It's the latest in a series of setbacks for the company, whose 737 MAX jet has been involved in two deadly crashes. The incident also comes at a time when Boeing, overtaken by Airbus in commercial aircraft deliveries, was hoping to ramp up production. Also in this edition, we look ahead to the CES consumer tech trade show in Las Vegas.

As soon as a company is considered 'too big to fail', the consumer always loses. Unfortunately, in this case it's lives not just money.

A few years ago there was a very good Al Jazaare documentary about how Boeing's cost cutting and anti union activities were putting the quality and safety of the 737 aircraft at risk. This definitely seems to be the case.

Airbus 350, whose design and shape of head make it difficult for the pilots to see runway in landing, now controversial in Japan after the plane crash in Tokyo on Jan. 2.

That’s the fatal mistake in manufacturing, isn’t it ??

Boeing's quality has declined since its headquarters moved to Chicago.
