As someone who works with stone and concrete I know how unpredictable these materials can be sometimes, so I can not even begin to imagine how they made these magnificent statues? And 'experts' tell us it was done with copper The same metal that you can bend over your knee without too much strain, and they say it honed out these exquisite shapes? The ancient Egyptians never cease to amaze me.
When I was a child, my favourite film (and book) was 'The Time Machine' starring Rod Taylor. I so wanted it to be true because my first trip would have been back to those times to see for myself just how they did it. But also, I would go to watch the Olmic, Aztecs, and Inca, and Nazcas. How wonderfully that would be? What do we have today? We have the idiots flying planes into buildings, and blowing up thousands of years old ruins of Buddah, and Palmyra! It makes me weep at the utter stupidity.

This was one of 100 'raised' for Nesi (Pharaoh) Heqa-Waset Amun-Hotep (Amenhotep III), 18th Dynasty, by his Chief Architect, the "Neb Tem" and High Priest of Tehuti (Thoth) and Shesat, Amun-Hotep, Son of Het Heru Priestess Hapu (Amenhotep, son of Hapu).
It was 'usurped' (stolen and reinscribed) by Rameses II, 19th Dynasty.

Why would the sphyx originally have a lions head of predyanstic stone work at this level was a Pharos head aswell? I’m so conflicted now in prehistory regardless of theorys and facts

Every single Pharoah or sphinx statue always have the nose broken off. I don't believe in coincidence either.

The majesty of Ancient Egypt! This is Amenemhet II 1926-1895 B.C., or Senusret II 1895-1878 B.C. of the 12th Dynasty. It's so well cut, the face is almost an exact portrait of the king, 39 hundred years ago!

The nose was knocked off so the spirit of the king would die and not haunt the person who robbed the tomb.

To be that precisely cut and smoothed shiny, and it's 4000 years old? And it still looks like that? Copper chisels, yea right.

La Esfinge, originalmente, tenía una cabeza de león y está orientada hacia la constelación de Leo. Como dijo J. Anthony West, fue la forma de dejar constancia de que esa civilización vivió bajo la constelación del león, hace más o menos 14.000 años

I sometimes wonder if copper was used in some form but not a chisel…maybe something to direct energy, to ‘carve’ the stone…?
Would be amazing to see these massive artefacts and megaliths in real life.
