Right now, Missy is very hurt and angry. She is seeking help and company from Paige with whom she shares those emotions. Paige apparently is turning to alcohol for help. She has changed from academic brilliance and a mischievous girl to a bitter, angry teen. I know it’s tough dealing with the divorce of her folks. Missy could go down the same path. Hopefully, her parents will work things out and settle their differences in a way that sets a good example. Might be sad but better than what they are doing right now. Since MeeMaw and Georgie are there, they might help too. As I recall in TBBT Georgie describes Missy as a dumb teen.

I am sorry but as far as I can see Mary has always favored Sheldon over Missy and Georgie. No matter what Sheldon does or says to people Mary never calls him on it. George seems to be the only one that sends him to his room or tells him to be quiet, that is when he can get away with it. So no, Missy is not a dumb kid, she is just tired of being disrespected.
