The best thing about rad red is how easy it is to optimize your team. You can pay to change nature's and max out IVs. You get a move remember and egg move tutor and can use an item and npc to change abilities or get hidden abilities. I really wish every romhack had these featured

In normal pokemon games and rom hacks I usually dont switch any mons from my main team but damn Radical Red made me use more mons than I have ever used playing pokemon

Some great mons in RR 4.0:
-Pangoro with iron fist that boosts sucker punch. Makes him busted.
-Flareon with toxic boost. Boosts attack by 50% when poisoned and you dont take poison damage. Makes him effectively immune to sleep and paralysis w/a toxic orb. Learns sacred fire and flare blitz. Increased speed to 95 and much better stat distribution
-floatzel with technician boosted surging strikes
-Seaking with lightning rod is immune to electric. Has access to fisheous rend and agility
-Donphan with technician that boosts ice shard and bonemerang (50bp move that hits twice. With technician, thats 150bp total plus STAB, making it 225bp)
-drapion with sniper and wicked blow. Wicked blow always crits and sniper increases crit damage from 1.5x to 2.25x

I love this rom hack. It’s genuinely one of my favorite Pokémon games. Ngl SWSH/Arceus/SV don’t compare to the amount of fun I’ve had playing Radical Red

As somebody who played the games up through Gen 4, I thought this might actually be a “walk in the park”.

It’s a delightful challenge, and the only game I’ve ever screamed at since Fallout New Vegas.

there is a level limit until a new badge if obtained and bag is disabled in trainer battle it makes game wayyyy harder

It grinds your true nature to bloom into existence. The Rage Powder of this Rom Hack is definitely super effective. I'm angry because it's extremely hard to nuzlocke but at the same time I'm hooked and will never stop playing until I beat those Hardcore Trainers, Boss battles and gym Leaders again and again with different tactics and combinations of Pokémon. Man I love this game so bad

I'm not personally big into competative pokemon but this was honestly a blast. I started off struggling but once I had put together a strong rain team that took advantage of the swift swim ability it became very enjoyable.

The key to beating this game is ultimately speed control and if you get on top of that you'll have a much better experience, whether thats done with rain, sun or sticky webs.

Another cool thing the RR devs did
was adjusting stats & types of some mons,
like Ledian becoming bug/fighting with ironfist
& Sunflora ís fire/grass to just name a few
making more of the dex viable
