All about Using Multiple Cache Pools and Shares in Unraid 6.9

This is the 4th part of a series of videos all about Unraid 6.9. This series will take you through everything that you need to know to get a server up and running quickly and easily.
This forth part shows how to setup and use multiple cache pools. It also explains the various different setting that shares can use so you can decide how to best use multi pools on your server for the best performance.

I been using 3 cache pools to minimise writes to my array and NVMe's.
Cache 1 - Downloads - downloads folder for all Linux iso's - 2x500GB HDD in RAID0(bought from Facebook market for dirt cheap, mostly at the end of life)
Cache 2 - Media - Cache for imported iso's, moved to array every week- 2x1TB in RAID1( old array disks)
cache - Appdata - 2x500GB NVMe in RAID1

I would say this is the best feature of unRaid so far!

First, I would like to say your videos are soley responsible for one of my new passions for learning. Interest in unraid > linux > bash > pen testing > python, so thank you for lighting a fire in my brain 🙂. Second, I was wondering if you know how does unraid treat pools as devices? Is it an md array? I have been using ich777's iscsi plugin and targetcli in conjunction with lvm to make a native striped ISCSI target, and performance seems improved from the Openfiler method, I digress, It would be simpler if an unraid pool viewed as a block level device and with the ISCSI plugin could be straight forward enough to give you new content.
