I remember seeing this in the theater in NYC. It was a few months after 9/11 and when Admiral Reigart defies orders to go in and save Lt.Burnett the fucking theater exploded with cheers.

I am a Navy veteran. Watching this scene reminds me of Captain Crozier of the USS ROOSEVELT. He will ALWAYS have my RESPECT👍👍👍!!! May God Bless Captain Crozier; what an OUTSTANDING officer.👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏

Ryan Adams rescue blues, a great choice for the scene especially the part when the admiral looked at his staff on the ship and they straightened up for him 👌🏻

Captain Crozier of the USS Roosevelt made a similar decision. He broke protocol for the well being of his Sailors, and in doing do list his command.

I am not American. But this song and this entire scene is filled with American vibes. It's as American as any scene can get.
Makes one feel proud of America, even if one is not an American.

This movie in my opinion deserved at the least 3 Stars. But I myself give 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ + I think the Admiral deserves that. He’s the chief of command and made the decision. Talk about caring for his men and crew. Wow, I salute you a trillion times over. For him and all the rest of the men deserve the metal of honor for bravery to there country, Period.

Gene Hackman is one of my favorite actors-From this movie to Hoosiers, to Mississippi Burning. A legend.
Owen Wilson was an exceptional Pilot considering he is mainly a comedy guy, but he showed what a great actor he is.
Ryan Adams is the greatest songwriter of my generation (Im 36) and hes never released a bad album.
The Rescue Blues is a top ten song for me and was absolutely PERFECT for this ending.
