This is the best channel I have found for a beginner to learn from! In the middle of repairing a 2000 Honda. This is my first time doing this kind of work. What I like is that you are "no non-sense" and get right to the point. You also use beginner level spray guns and other tools and you show they can work well. You also don't use a paint booth (like all home jobbers) and show how to deal with the dirt and fibers that we all have to deal with. Good Job!

came out beautifully. I would like to see a video on dealing with problems as they arise. I'm a DIY and teaching myself painting. I'm getting better but I still run across issues while painting and some of them stump me

Thank you for all of the informational videos and yes definitely a video about correcting paint flaws like dust particles and lint would be most appreciated.

Another excellent video Chris and it is so nice that you get down to business with no crap background music edited in and we can hear the spray gun working.
When spraying clear with the Sagola did you have any of your portable exhaust fans turned on? as you did not seem to getting much overspray fog
It is so refreshing to see excellent work can be produced in an open workshop without an expensive spray booth and nominal dust (if not any) landing in the paint

Thanks for sharing your skills with us Chris there is some very useful info here which will help me with my basecoat, mine used to go on quite dry and never felt smooth but a few weeks ago I started trying slow reducer (I used to use fast) in my base which has made a big difference as it's now nice a smooth which also helps my clearcoat finish👍John UK

I took ROP body and fender in high school then worked in a body shop for a few months as a kid, as a cabinet maker spraying conversion varnish with an airless was second nature. Now I just bought a jeep Cherokee that could use some fresh paint, my body work days were 35 years ago, wondering if I can still spray a car ha ha ha.!!!

I've been restoring a table saw for a couple years now and this past weekend finally got to spraying the table saw base. I did primer and 3 top coats. Never used an HPLV sprayer before, but overall I'm satisfied with the result. However, there are some areas that do look a little dusty, such as at the edges, top and bottom. I'm debating putting a fourth at coat on just to establish a smoother finish overall.

It would be worth it if the result is good, but what do you think? I know it's personal preference, but I've put a lot of time into this project so if one more coat with good application and settings would take it up a notch, I'm all for it.

I can post a picture on my community page of what I'm talking about, if that would help anyone offer advice (no, I'm not soliciting traffic and views). Appreciate any feedback or tips. Thanks so much!

My Speedo kote bright white dosn't cover very well even after sealing bondo and bare metel with speed kote sealer. Is there a way to make it cover better. Using cheap gun 1.4.
