As far as I see the Mazda problem:
1 a device should always have a physical system to reset the memory (like the reset cmos on a motherboard)
2 a software should be able to get anything and just trash what is not understood.

Mazda should do free repair/ replacement even if out of warranty because the problem is inside their software

Nice that there finally is the fusion energy breakthrough... esp since the research came _after_ the French already started building a nuclear reactor assuming the technology of this breakthrough would be viable.

Actually, it did. It made a lot of sense at the beginning. The Note was the "experimental" product line in which Samsung would try some really wild ideas (starting with the S-Pen). The Galaxy was the more established flagship line where those ideas that turned out to be well-liked were added. Some time before the exploding version of the Note, this distinction become rather blurred and some innovations were pushed to the Galaxy S before the Note. At that time, the two lines stopped making sense and, after a few more iterations, Samsung even agreed on that.

it’s actually nice to see government regulators get their way when it comes to big mergers for once. we’ve got way too many monopolies in tech, so it’s probably better for everyone (most importantly us, the consumer) to keep things separate.
