**Warning** This is a desktop presentation only. I have links below and throughout the video so that you can see these in use. Please skip this video if you're looking for beamshots.

In this video I feature a pair of Polarion HID lights, the PH50 and CSWL/Night Reaper. Some incredible technology packed into these machined aluminum chassis's and I believe Polarion are the BEST HID's lights available to the professional, albeit at a very high price. This isn't so much a review as it is a desktop presentation which shows these lights up close. In part 2, I'll post a night time demo compared to a truck's high beam headlights. Stay tuned!

Hey thanks EliteSiege! I'm glad that you had the wherewithal to stop and hit it with a blast of light. Stage two would have been to knock it's skull with 3.7lbs of aluminum. Way to stay cool bud! I've done a desktop review of the SR90 but you probably already know everything that I say in the video...haha. Thanks for stopping by.

I've kinda already pointed you to help sir. You've asked several questions in one paragraph and I'd need 4 more to respond. Contacts at oblique angles can judge distance however extracting something useful from that is like reading 1 line of programing code for a Shuttle launch sequence & attempting to understand a mission. A tactical scenario could be highly dynamic & has a virtually unlimited # of variables. "Rifle & light Infantry Tactics" & "The Mechanized Battlefield" are great books!

Well, these would be in a completely different category compared to the M6. The M6 is a much smaller, less expensive light that uses conventional incandescent bulb. The new M6's are LED but again much smaller. Thanks for watching.

Lumens is a measurement of overall light or total light. Candela is a measurement of directional or focused light. A laser for example is very few lumens but focuses to create a high reading of light in a small area. A florescent bathroom light doesn't have much throw but can illuminate with thousands of lumens. HID lights happen to provide a lot of lumens and can throw very well when combined with a high quality reflector. I hope that helps...

@TheDishD Strangely, the only comparable alternative to the Night Reaper is the Surefire Hellfighter, which is also good but not quite as bright and has no on board power. It even took a while for the US to start using these with CSWL's so it doesn't surprise me that the Brit's didn't have the available. I'm glad you enjoyed Dish!

@bscalzo130 Very Welcome! They're pretty amazing to see in use! Fenix lights are really great compact LED's. I've been a fan since they hit the market and still have my first one.

I think the light he's referring to is the famous model from the esteemed company "Fernix lights" based out of Singapore. They really make some top notch stuff. You should check out their awesome store... on Ebay. They easily achieve that superior output by putting 50 xm-l emitters next to each other and using 500 18650's in one light. Seriously why has nobody thought of this until now? They are geniuses. There is a new section on CPF dedicated just to them.

Tactical illumination isn't a parameter that's calculated, rather it's a proficiency that's gained through training and honed through experience. The answer to the details of your question are too dynamic to capture in a comment blurb but there are some excellent writings available on the topic. While some general rules will apply to all low light engagements, others will be unique to the role of CSLW. Ken Good's book "Strategies of Low-Light Engagements" would be a good starting point.

I didn't think of that yet. I'll add that to its list of duties...

Between these two it really comes down to form factor. If it's just a light to awe people and have fun with get the XM18. If you're going to use it for adventure, caving, sports, etc get the Helios or Abyss.

Many thanks for the upload, OK?

These are impressive lights for sure and I may have to get larger pockets so they will fit, and actually they are probably pretty expensive as well so another reason for the deeper pockets!

Have subbed.
Take care.
