She raised her to be kind? No, she raised her to understand that she could depend on no one but herself. That fund left by her dad is the only family or family help she will ever know and she's not sharing. Those step siblings have 2 parents they can look to, she has none.

They literally have zero entitlement to OP's inheritance. ANY judge would tell her Mom that. Good for Dad for setting up a fund for her, He ALSO made ZERO provisions for any step children Mom would have, he wasn't required to do so so they are SOL. OP was also in the right for getting the truth out so Mom can suffer from the consequences of HER actions. OP's friend is awesome and so are her parents. Also it became their business when Mom brought it to THEIR home and good for the friend recording the interaction on video. Mom earned every bit of of the scorn she's getting/ will get.

mother was stupid. OP was entitled to the inheritance at 18, so all they needed to do was go to father's lawyer and ask for assistance - payment of rent and deposit on apartment on 18th birthday, plus some cash for expenses. And if OP wasn't yet 18, OP could call CPS on her when mother tried to kick her out prior to OP's birthday.

I can understand why Op is upset about his mom threatening to kick him out, but he does have a trust that will help ease some of his financial strain with a job. Mom and her chosen family can kick rocks. The mom is garbage. Leave and go full on NC. They treated Op very badly. Especially the mom.

I think the daughter is right to move out and not share her earnings with them; however, I do not agree with her posting the entire incident online, especially since she should not reveal everyone's identity, it's not the right thing to do....
