UPDATE: As of writing this, the new beta version fixes this bug. No need for workarounds anymore. Opt into the Steam beta by following this link:

Yo this making me so mad I tried on my go lap too my Mac book even got a usb-c adapter and a hard drive ughhh… dude I’ve invested and not enough space on either like wth

same problem on Windows 8.1...
I had update on Dota 2 which shows that it requires 4gb, but in fact it required 12GB update. For some stupid reason it downloads first on disc "C"(mainly my steam app installed on "C" disk). So solution was to make free space on "C", since these changes in settings didn't help at all..
