Nice to finally see Onua getting some love. He will always be my favorite, too.

Onua, my heart, my first ever bionicle. May he reign proudly

Pohatu was actually my first and favorite, I liked that he had a different look, that he can attack from range, and his mask kind of looked like a cat to me 😅

5:42 fun fact: i felt the same way about his mask and the same resemblance. So back around 2016, during G2, i created a Jason Voorhees figure using the white version of this mask and mamy brown parts, especially from Pohatu and others of his element.

It’s funny watching this because your number 1 is my number 6 but fair enough we all like different things for different reasons, cool to see the gang ranked!

I think Onua was the only Toa I never got... so clearly your opinion is shared Kelton! Also awesome to see the incredible mileage that Lego got out of Onua's claw part (which afaik was invented for him???). In a line of mysterious and alluring sci-fi figures, he is definitely double-dosing the mystery and the allure lmao.

My personal favourite is/was Kopaka though: the satellite dish shield was so cool, the sword blade is clean af, and his mask with its optical detailing is incredible.

EDIT: love these LOTR analogies too - so on-point.

Ah, the fall of 2001... fond memories. I was 11. For me, it began with a McDonald's toy: Jala. I instantly got excited for Bionicle and began collecting. We had many fun adventures, including with my regular Legos. I recall one warm October day playing with them in my friend's yard. I also remember playing the game online (first ever internet game for me, complete with dialup noises). I got all the village chiefs and the first line of Bohrok. Then I grew up, needed money for college and sold them, and have sometimes missed them. I ended nearly doubling my money, which was nice. They will always have a special place in my heart, a happy memory. Pohatu was actually my favorite, but I liked them all. I also mispronounced Lewa and find that Irish version disturbing haha.

the non-conventionally shaped Toa are my favorite, that is Pohatu, Onua and Kopaka to an extent, they were the ones who added variety to the team despite their simplicity, which was a big appeal of the Toa Mata

Onua and Tahu were also my top-2! Although I never had them from gen-1, I got them both in their updated armor as a New year gifts for 2002! I was so happy, they still look and play great.

I’m lucky to still have my Lewa banged up and the axe chewed on by my late dog. His mask crumbled, but I just so happened to have gotten his silver mask variant, so technically he still complete with all retro pieces. The video is a great walk down memory lane.

Great video - as always! My list is as follows:

6. Lewa - never had him or knew his story
5. Gali - never had her either but liked her later versions better
4. Onua - kinda scared me as a kid - I was only 6 or so when these came out😂
3. Tahu - everyone liked him so I had to go a different route, lol
2. Kopaka - I still remember my cousin buying Kopaka (and buying me a lego Dinosaur). I always associated him with that excessively cool cousin😅
1. Pohatu - while I never owned him, didn't like his weapon, and disliked the upside-down body; I LOVED that mask and was so thrilled to get it in the McDonald's toy version!

In the books, Pohatu was a super friendly and chill guy, which makes me love him. But as a set, he’s definitely not as flashy

I remember buying Tahu at the Lego store in Downtown Disney when I was maybe 8 or 9, great memories.

I just recently got back into these since my childhood, I found a complete bahrok in my basement and the remnants of Topaka missing his mask and a foot lol, I searched around on eBay and just bought a completed Onua with canister to start to rebuild the collection I once had

Of the Toa Mata, I had Lewa. Course the one I really wanted was Kopaka.

Great list, here's mine.
6. Tahu, simply because he was the only one I never got when I was a kid. Only got him a few years ago.
5. Kopaka
4. Lewa
3. Gali
2. Pohatu, my first ever bionicle I got on my 4th birthday. And thanks to him, I had a great childhood collecting bionicles (still do to this day).
1. Onua, always been the coolest looking toa. He's also my favorite bionicle character so that also helps.

Great video! I had all Toa Mata as the kid, and I really miss those prices.
