I remember back in college I had this straight friend, I had a crush on him pero may girlfriend sya. Umamin ako sa kanya nung nag break sila, but ayun binusted nya ako. Then he told me na "I really like you as a friend. Yun lang bestfriend kita. Iloveyou but hindi more than friends." Umiyak ako nun then I walk out. Minemessage nya ako, tinetext, tinatawagan. Pero ako yung umiiwas. Almost a year ako umiiwas pero hindi siya gumive up kausapin ako. Hanggang sa nagka boyfriend ako, then that guy cheated on me, and I broke up with him. Halos iyak ako ng iyak nung time na yun. Tapos yung straight kong friend una lumapit sa akin. Siya ang una nag comfort sa akin. Inaway din niya yung ex ko for me. Tapos I remember sinabi niya sa akin.

"I may never loved you more than friends, but I promised you I will love you as my brother and my friend. Kaya malapit ako sa iyo kasi totoo ka, I will always be here for you no matter what, I will protect you always. Kaya please wag ka na lumayo o umiwas. I don't want to lose my best friend."

It's like my good old friend is singing this to me. He never wished for anything but only for our good. He offered me friendship when I confessed that I love him. We were good friends in college because were both writers in school magazine. "We are better off friends, and we're brothers in Christ. I know this is hard for you so I'll let you go, not because you want to - but I love you the most." Then he met an accident after a year. When I came in his funeral, his mom told me that my name was his last word.

my opinion: kasi diba yung "Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako" is kung paano nalaman nung Guy na mahal siya nung Friend niya. etong "Pare Mahal naman kita" siguro yung Friend umiwas, nasaktan at hindi niya tanggap na kaibigan lang siya ni guy. kaya si guy sinasabing Mahal naman niya si Friend pero hindi siya sure kasi nga ayaw niyang may magbago sa friendship nila...
ito po ay personal kong take sa dalawang kanta, try to read between the lines. kasi mas maiintindihan niyo yung worth nung song. <3

This song bring back the memories way back college days. Yung alam ko nmn dati na bi siya pero lapit siya ng lapit hanggang ewan at nahulog ako sa kanya. Everyone were asking if kami ba. But I stayed mum kasi sa pagkakaalam ko, straight ako. I never thought na ang isang kagaya ko, mahuhulog sa isang kagaya niya. Pero kung saang hulog na hulog na ako sa kanya, saka nman siya dumistansya.😭😭 Yung tiponh di ko na alam bakit naging ganoon na lang bigla. Yung noon, na kahit saan sabay kayong dalawa noon tapos gang parang di na kayo magkakilala bigla. 😢 mahirap yung sobrang attached na ako sa kanya saka nmn lumayo. Yung nkakuha ako ng 3 sa klase kasi di ako mkapag concentrate. Yung pangarap naming magtapos ako ng may flying colors, naglaho na parang bula.😭😢😢 I failed. But I failed my parents. Pero pasalamat nmn ako kasi npaka understanding nila.

But, this kind of friend are for keeps, they can accept you for who you are -- but they can't give what you want. Most of the times, what we want is beyond what is enough over friendship. Sometimes, we need to think a million times if it's worth it to put your friendship at risk while hoping for something more.

This is a song about love, people valuing friendship and human relationships... you cannot break-up with your friend. And for others mas importante yun than being in a relationship and risking being strangers eventually pag hindi nag workout.
