1) Tariffs are paid for by Americans and not Chinese .So what you get is more expensive and poorer quality goods.
2) Tariffs only protect a certain section of the working class temporarily. It will not bring back the jobs that Americans did not want to do in the first place. All it does is that these jobs will migrate to another less efficient country and Americans will end up paying more for less.
3) Cost of living and production of goods by US will increase making American products more difficult to sell and more American job losses.
4) People like him are talking out of anger and seek to take revenge for their own incompetence. Unfortunately the price will be paid for by others, they have made their fortunes by using cheap labor from poor people .

Yes, it will. We don't have manufacturing in North America, so if I drop a 400% tariff on something that I don't produce, the price will go up. And a further truth is that once I produce the product here, the price does not go down to where it was; it's still greater. From wages to real estate costs to taxes, we will always cost more than those who didn't have to pay that. Achinese person maybe gets 10$ us dollars a day in wages in some places we are $20 an hr, then add shipping, taxes on property and raw materials, and a building. But more importanly is people are used to paying $10 for a yogamat you make it $30 and then they are not as willing to buy
