Honestly the main thing I am excited for is RCS support. I want to be able to send high quality pictures and videos without it compressing it so much and without downloading a separate app.

It’s not just a push for AI on why they want to get users to upgrade phones. I have worked in cellular for two decades and iPhone users (I am one) typically don’t upgrade software or devices on our network unless they must. It’s a support nightmare and I am sure that plays a part for Apple too.

My s24 ultra already does most of this I'm so glad I dumped my 15 pro max a month ago... I am looking forward to RCS though literally the only thing I miss from switching is iMessage so RCS on iphone will bridge that gap

You know what I’d like most from a settings redesign? A record of what was changed. I’d like to be able to tell my mother she can go in, not to worry and change whatever she likes and that I can easily fix anything she changes. It would help so much in giving her confidence to explore. Also, having the search function permanently at the top of settings rather than having to swipe down to search would be helpful as transferring short to long term memories isn’t that easy the older you get.

I’m so excited for this but mad at the same time. I love your note about tempering expectations so we don’t be disappointed but, it is hard not to when apples executives seemingly were late to the party and when asked if they were behind were very cocky on saying no. That out the expectation high when most people know, they are not close.

I’ve been wanting more screen effects for a long to time now. I love using them. What I really want to see is visionOS take advantage of spatial computing to make texting in Vision Pro more immersive. The fact that hearts don’t fly out and surround me when someone loves my text is wild to me. What a missed opportunity.
