Shida Shahabi - Aestus

Living Circle will be out on June 23rd, midsummer eve.

This record has been with me for a while and I feel excited to finally share it. Some of these pieces started to take form three years ago and the process since then has been slow and at times more undefined compared to previous works. I didn’t want to push or force things early on in the process, and I was hoping that this would give more space for what happens spontaneously; the things that appear naturally when recording in a creative course. This record goes more inwards, but it also goes after a wider, longer format, and its sonic structure comes partly from improvisation and partly from sessions working through what felt interesting and what the material wanted to say. There were more scenarios of working in the dark, but strangely that made the process more fun.

I am forever grateful for the amazing people who have contributed with their delicate and wise minds and abilities to this production.
