Just finished watching this amazingly heartwarming film. I'm not sure how true to life it was but it was wonderful. It would have been nice to see a part 2 covering his later life at Oxford and his friendship with the creator of narnia tales. The two shared ideas. But without this aspect included the film was a very strong emotional journey thru his life and I'm sure had he been alive to witness it which of course they never are, he would duly appreciate and advocate this as a great tribute. Amazingly written and Superbly acted. Our dramas just mature more and more with each decade. Exceptional film making.

Watched this last night. Quite simply one of the most beautifully made, heart wrenching and profoundly poetic movies I've ever seen. Food for the soul.

Tolkien was a Christian. The Lord of the Rings was created on motifs related to Christianity. Religion was Tolkien's inspiration.

I've always viewed Tolkien as one of my biggest inspirations. I wish i got to meet him.
Also fun fact during the height of the Nazi regime he openly wrote letters to the paper trashing Hitler 😂 he was such a badass

I’m from New York and remember living in London at the time when I saw this. I went to see this in a cinema in London with my friend who was from Washington. It was beautiful to be in the country Tolkien was from while watching this 😊

I think I'm probably the biggest fan of this movie. I have watched it a thousand times, over and over, yet it still doesn't get old. I love the casting of all the characters, the music, the themes...everything! Its as if this film was specifically made for me as an individual, I don't know why I feel this way...but it really does. I wish I was in this world, I wish I was a part of the TCBS, I wish I had friends like that. It really surprises me that so little people know about this movie, because it is pure art. The reviews online don't match up to the experience I get when watching it, its just simply superb.
