The Nuggets' Future Now Depends On Jamal Murray

Murray is one of the NBA's all-time playoff performers, serves as the perfect Robin to Nikola Jokic's Batman...or Joker, and is arguably the Association's greatest non-All-Star. But his max extension brings plenty of questions in Denver, where Murray's performance over the next half-decade will make or break what's left of The Jokic Era.

Short Answer: Yes he is, most players in the post 2nd apron era are worth their money, especially if they are homegrown, you couldn't get an adequate replacement for him that wouldn't cost you a similar amount compared to his playoff production.

He is worth every penny. The team digressed when he was gone, and as soon as he came back, even while still dealing with lingering effects of his injury, they immediately became NBA champs. People can say what they want, but he's a very important part of the Nuggets team, that was one of the main driving force to their road to the NBA championship

I mean it's true. Jokic basically hard carried the team in 2022 without Jamal and MPJ. But unfortunately as great as he is, he can't carry the team alone during playoffs. It's frustrating to see that the Nuggets are wasting Jokic's prime. Hoping he'll win at least 1 more ring cause honestly I feel like he won't even renew his current contract once it's up. He's gonna be 30+ then.

The problem with his stats is that he'll go 12-14 when the nuggets are getting blown out and then 2-16 in an overtime loss. The averages look great but he's so inconsintant and unreliable. With that being said, if Bubble Murray is still in there somewhere... I can't wait to see it again.

Worth is relative to the market itself and the Nuggets didn't really have much of a choice. Some other team would have paid him if the Nuggets decided to let him walk. Every NBA team will go through this reality eventually.

Murray will be good until his early 30s, I think. He might still have a career year and make an All-Star team. Denver letting KCP walk was a major loss though.

Murray is awesome but in no way is he a Superstar. Even mediocre players get Max Contracts today. I don't understand it anymore so I stopped watching it.

Honestly? They didn't have any choice. There's no other players with the same skill set that's available to be picked up.
Right now all the Nuggets hope Jamal will perform better in the playoffs.

We see Jokic is still Jokic and can single handily carry a terrible shooting team in multiple games. But it's not enough.
Still got ptsd with the missed open 3s in that playoffs.


His performance in the Olympics was terrible. So Jamal better prove himself. Otherwise he'll be lumped with the likes of Beal that basically finessed a franchise.

Im a fan but after his playoffs and his abysmal Olympic form definitely not. If he can find his form from their championship run then sure. Rooting for him but it appears his body can't handle the rigours/ demands of the NBA
