That line was the BEST line in the entire release. They all but straight out said, "Even though we're buying the Intellivision brand, EVERYTHING to do with that dumpster fire called the Amico, we have NOTHING to do with."

It's really interesting that Tommy bashed Atari for failing to deliver, yet Atari has actually released 2 consoles AND NOW owns the Intellivision IP, and the Amico is STILL as real as the Coleco Chameleon.

If Intellivision LLC is rebranding, may I suggest calling themselves "Vaporware"

I think Atari just bought the Intellivision brand and all the original INTV owned games. The Amico people are still going on under a new brand name but with a Licence from Atari.

The original Intellivision was engineered and created by a small east coast company named Gerald Electronics in the late 1970s and sold to or was contracted by Matel. My father worked there before he passed so I don't know all the details but we had it long before it was released.

How ironic. All those years ago when Atari announced the VCS for crowd funding, and just few short years later Tommy Tallarico made the announcement about the Amico...never in a million years would I have figured that it would be the VCS that made it to launch, and the Amico was the scam. Oh, how the worm turns.

For a moment I though I will hear: "Wow, I woke up this morning... in 1979!" 🤣
Atari acquiring Intellivision it's not a something that I've ever expected to hear in 2024 😂

Maybe the games that Tommy Tallarico promised will be available on my Atari VCS now. 🤣🤣

Maybe I missed something...Here is how I see things...Amico, which I supported with my $100 (down) never came to market cause of <pick your reason> but in the end cash shortage. Atari, which I own stock in, bought Intellivision. I have not seen any talks of the actual amounts of money/stock/etc on the purchase amount. If it was all about money that would mean than Intellivision LLC may now have some cash. Could one or all of the following happen...1) Amico gets released by Intellivision LLC and still has rights to their games on that Amico Console. 2) Amico is a Competitor to Atari VCS in the Retro Market. 3) Atari VCS gains new titles. 4) Amico (Intellivision LLC) is a competitor again to the Atari. In the End this arrangement could work out for both companies as Competition/Console wars (new) means more revenue. Its not about competing with Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo...It about carving out a completely new market.

So, Smash... is your investment in the Intellivision Amico going to be "refunded" in Atari stocks and bonds?

9:12 fun fact, there actually is a Yars Revenge remake that came out in 2011 on Xbox 360 that nobody talks about ( last time I checked, it was like a dollar). It’s basically a poor man’s panzer dragoon. I believe it’s also on Steam as well.

Given it's not backwards compatible I've never understood the purpose of the Amico, there are already PLENTY of consoles out there both vintage and modern, we don't need a new one.

What in the world could they say to you to convince you to part with $10, 000?!

It’s been obvious from the beginning that this “console” was going to be DOA.

I grew up playing with an Atari 2600 and an Intellivision. Remember Intellivoice? B-17 Bomber was killer for its day. Anyway, as someone who grew up in that era this is wild news.

THIS was the video I was waiting on. When I saw the news broke from Wario64, I thought about you and everyone else that backed the Amico. While I think this is a good thing, I do wonder how the investors will take this news. Hopefully we will know soon, but until then I feel for the investors who basically feel like they’ve been betrayed.

Somebody checked on Tommy Talarico! Is he okay? Is his mother proud of this?
