If you have access to Better than Bouillon near you, I think it's the second best thing next to making your own stock.

Ready-made stock isn't a thing in Greece so when recipes call for stock this alongside with 2 cups of water is always what I use. Feels like a cheatcode to flavour and umami lol

Yep. I’ve done it I’ll do it again. When I was a kid and got sick a mug of hot bullion was served. Why waste water? 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂

I like using chicken ramen seasoning packets instead of bouillon cubes. Save the noodles for Ramen Carbonara.

Bouillon cubes always have this weird taste that ends up permeating the dish 😢 maybe that’s just the super cheap kind I buy but it’s sad

This is a salt-sodium monoglutamate-fat-cube with nearly no "bouillon" = meat extract in it. Shoud be prohibited to neam such things in terms suggesting meat as main ingredient.

I also nibble on them when I take one for the soup. Especially for those fast cheap soups they bring at least some flavor. Sadly they contain natrium glutamate, but not like it is that bad.

Bouillon is disgusting for broth usually, unless you use it instead of salt in some dishes. Maybe that’s a hot take
