Protagoras: Criticisms and Defenses (part 2/2)

This is the second in a two-part series exploring (what we know) of the philosophy of Protagoras. Here, we review several objections that were leveled at Protagoras's doctrine that "man is the measure of all things" namely by Plato and Aristotle. Is it self-refuting? Does it deny that anyone can be either wrong or have expertise? Does it license the idea of fake news and charlatanism? We'll look at these criticisms and Protagorean responses.

OMG! What a thoughtful examination of Protagorean thought. It clearly explained the theory, and the criticisms of it. Then, it took the ‘leap’ via Richard Rorty to explore whether it is as black and white as many of us have been led to think. Quite well done. Thank you Professor!

Thank God you did this video. My seminar is on this and it's coming up in few days time. This is so timely for me. Please, how do I reference this video as I will definitely include some of the things you said. This is the most informative video on Protagoras that I have seen so far.

Thanks a million times
