CONFUCIUS - Most Powerful Quotes (Confucius Philosophy) (Confucianism)
Confucius, "Master Kǒng"; 551–479 BC was a Chinese philosopher and politician of the Spring and Autumn period.
The philosophy of Confucius, also known as Confucianism, emphasized personal and governmental morality, the correctness of social relationships, justice, kindness, and sincerity. Confucianism was part of the Chinese social fabric and way of life; to Confucians, everyday life was the arena of religion.[3] His followers competed successfully with many other schools during the Hundred Schools of Thought era only to be suppressed in favor of the Legalists during the Qin dynasty. Following the victory of Han over the Chu after the collapse of Qin, Confucius's thoughts received official sanction in the new government. During the Tang and Song dynasties, Confucianism developed into a system known in the West as Neo-Confucianism, and later New Confucianism (Modern Neo-Confucianism).
Confucius is traditionally credited with having authored or edited many of the Chinese classic texts including all of the Five Classics, but modern scholars are cautious of attributing specific assertions to Confucius himself. Aphorisms concerning his teachings were compiled in the Analects, but only many years after his death.
He wanted to make education available to anyone willing to learn. After mastering ancient arts, Confucius became a brilliant teacher who passed on his knowledge to improve society. A typical idea of the Confucian heritage is that human beings are malleable; they can always improve and perfect themselves if they try hard enough.
Developed from Confucius’ teachings, Confucianism is a philosophy often followed as a religion by the Chinese, with particular emphasis on the importance of the family and social harmony — it’s a way of life. These ideas inspired East Asian culture and still have a lasting impact on the world.
Driven by his passion, Confucius’s intention was to awaken the people, and he tirelessly tried to do it until the day he died.
