I don’t use a looper but I can see this being incredible for anyone that regularly performs with one!

As a live looping musician myself, this makes me drool. The foot switches look so solid!

Everything Pete creates is pure Gold. I have a Theorie to it. It’s a reflection of his great personality.

I've been using the Looperboard for the past 2 years for all my solo gigs. FINALLY! It looks like HeadRush has stepped up its game and teamed up with people who really can give solid design input! Just the ergonomics of the switching makes it worth it for me -- I'l most likely get one real soon!

That's awesome that there are useable sounds for guitar, bass, and vocals built into the device. You can just set the looper up stand alone with your instruments and be ready to jam. How cool is that!

Yes! That band mode is what I have been looking for. A loop that you can use for improve and soloing and then have the different parts on 2, 3, 4 for song changes like bridge, varied verse, bridge, etc...

The looper built into the Quad Cortex is also called the Looper X. Maybe Neural could take some notes for their next looper update. This kind of 4-track looping flexibility would be awesome on the QC. They even have the right number of buttons. 😉

Thank you Pete and Cap for the walk-through. Just got my Looper X and if not for your detailed review I would still be scratching my head on some of the settings. Thanks again!!

I appreciate the routing options. I have done live looping with a drummer and it was essential to be able to send a “loop only” mix to his in-ears, otherwise, once I start loudly soloing, he would lose the sync with the loop. I don’t think I would ever go this crazy on a looper though, as it is not a primary tool in my music.

As a current HR looperboard owner, I can attest that the company (HR) did not stand behind their existing customer base at all with the previous hardware version. It is clear that since in hindsight that they had moved on to this version of the product and possibly could not reveal this to their existing client base at the time. They have been radio silent on their own forum about the looperboard. Zero response to customer questions and concerns. They did 1 major firmware update that did improve the looperboard functionality and aesthetics to some degree. However, it was laden with bugs and there were no incremental releases after to fix....anything. Midi functionality is sparse, poorly implemented, and in some areas completely broken . I was forced to move on to another product which I am not entirely happy with either. But at least they believe in their own product, and listen to what the customer base has to say, They are actively engaged in the improvement of the product's core and functionality. The looperboard is now a $900 paperweight that rarely ever comes out of its handy $200 suitcase. I don't care if this thing could make me breakfast, HR lost my respect, and a customer. Cheers!

OMG😳😳😳 cannot wait to read some comparisons and comments vs Boss RC-600

Caveat to this message: I am not a professional looping artist nor professional guitar player.

I am an intermediate level enthusiast that enjoys looping and gears as a way to practice creativity in music given lack of time to play in a band.

With that said, I am the owner of a Boss RC 600 and just purchased the Sheeran Looper X.

Here’s a few first impressions compared to RC 600 after playing for a few days with my new loop station:

Benefit #1 - The main benefit in my view is the absolute ease of use at all levels. After seeing this video I was able to loop on the get go and use features I had never used on RC 600. Extremely intuitive. The base workflow is very easy and minimizes timing errors too.

Benefit #2- Ability to route and adjust levels all outputs: IMHO it is absolutely necessary to get loop decent quality. This is something the RC 600 falls short on and requires midi programming and an external unit to send midi messages. Fantastic to route outputs to a mixer and adjust on the fly.

Benefit #3 super high build quality. The pedals are outstanding and extremely solid. The video display is gorgeous and something a modern unit must have. The RC 600 immediately looks like something of the past, despite quite honestly you can do a whole lot with the boss unit at the price of not necessarily being too easy to use, given a limited display with suboptimal menu navigation abilities

The looper X main downside is price. A fair price point should be on the 600-800 € range. I believe their target is professional live looping artists but price will limit adoption. The unit exceeds my abilities and probably not justified given my skills, but others at my same skills level will likely choose not to upgrade.

A second downside is number of tracks: Would Headrush consider programming the unit in a way that more track could be used (ie 6-8)?

Huge shout out to Andertons for a great video, watched several times and very helpful to get started and got me excited for Looper X!

cheers
