This is truly wonderful stuff! It's like all the best ideas: obvious, once you see it, but not before you see it. I will be using some of these ideas in my kindergarten!

Data Talks, Dot Talks. Two powerful ways to strengthen conceptual understanding. Data talks are real-world applications. Our students are drenched in data (video game stats, streaming services, online platforms, sports). Excellent data literacy and math concepts rolled into one.

I was at the conference!!! 😂 I was the stalker who said hello to you in the cafe shop… 😂 You were awesome and, as always, I learned a lot.

Loved these ideas and have incorporated many in my first grade classroom. One suggestion I would like to make is to change the wording of "Which doesn't belong?" to "Which is unique?" We want children to feel a sense of belonging and making a small change with our teacher vocabulary such as doesn't belong to unique makes such a difference in their feelings of exclusion. I explicitly teach the definition of unique first and review each time we do that sort of activity. Thank you as always for sharing each week. I look forward to all your videos!

Do you recommend staying on the same "number talk" subject for a few days in a row, or would you change it up every day? Love your videos!

This was a great detailed video. I plan to use these strategies in my 1st grade morning /calendar math time or possibly in small groups.

Great video, as always! Can you explain why you don't show the 10 frames being filled from the bottom to top, left to right? Thank you!
