Greetings from Greece; personally, I felt really sorry for the Irish. I truly admire your people. Wish you build a good team over time, soon. Freedom to your Northern brothers... May you be living on a unified island by the end of the decade...

How are people blaming this man so much already? It’s his second game. Give the man some time atleast

The Irish lads played well especially the first half and had they scored first, perhaps the game would have turned out differently. You have a good coach, give him the time to develop the team and the results will come. Greece has experienced players and once they score first, it's a tough squad to beat. A Greek who loves Ireland.

He has to be given a lot more time. Stephen Kenny was given a lot of time and his tactics were awful. So give the guy a chance

Unfortunately a few players make the difference meaning the Greek team has at a front huge quality alot of teams they will feel how strong they are. Overall it was a good game

Give heimir a chance... Some of the best managers lose their first few games managing a team🇮🇪

I'll be interested to see what the squad looks like in the next round of games. We already know that he was leaning of O'Shea with the squad selection here due to time, and he made a point here of saying they need to find the right players and just play them. We may see a different looking team lining up come the Finland and Greece matches.

You can see some sparks of improvement in the Greece game. Kelleher, Ogbene, and Szmodics were consistent over both games. I would have liked to see Parrott get some game time there, and O'Brien, too.

I think a big issue is that the Kenny years were all about bringing young players in, which should have left us in a better position than it did. I feel like we should have been able to look back on those years as transitioning to the next generation of players, but they just aren't at the level yet, even with the international experience. Hopefully, we will see that improve now, but we're essentially starting a little way up the road rather than at the corner we need to turn.

Why was Rory McIlroy asking questions?

I bet this guy knew he had a job ahead of him, but didn't fully understand how much of a job and also didn't realize the extent of public apathy/unhappiness towards the team. FAI probably sold the job to him with images of World Cup 90 and fans dancing in water fountains etc.

I suspect he's probably already putting out the feelers for another club or national job right now.

Keeping O'Shea on the coaching staff was a mistake. The squad needed a clean break.

A lot of goals are conceded by Ireland by not clearing balls in our box.Secondly we are constantly caught on the break with Collins and O’Shea being way to far forward and can’t run back in time.Thirdly players standing off opposition at edge of box and letting them have a free long range shot.Thats the biggest thing we are known for.Fourth is that some players like Smallbone won’t track back.In fairness it was Doherty for second goal stopped running back where he might have been able to get a block on the Greece players shot for the second goal.Thats all about effort and nothing about skill or ability.

These are effectively friendlies, build composure and the right movements and more accurate passes and final balls during these games and hope it gels when the real qualifiers get going

We are an embarrassment. They are semi professionals at best. The manager should already be sacked on his decision to start Robbie Brady. Brady is terrible and needs be banished from international football altogether.

Stop playing formations which only better teams can only pull off. Play 2 strikers upfront. Give us a better chance of scoring when we get ball up to them.
