The part that I always loved is that damage appeared where a vessel was actually struck. And it correlated with functionality of that part of the ship.

an irony with Starfleet vessel in both Academy and Bridge commander, is that their excellent shield and Phaser coverage makes them great at grappling tactic. They can just stick to the enemy at close range and constantly maneuvering out of enemy weapon arc while pressuring with constant phaser fire.

meanwhile Klingon vessel with their forward focused weapon need rooms to perform hit and run.

This and online on this game actually was the best star trek siimulator game ever eveen to this day.. i remember playing online and you can actually warp away and they can track and follow you while you try to repair your ship.. this game was great on gamespy arcade, fighting near black holes, or in planet rings, or in gas giants or even in a suns corona.. its sad no other star trek game has even come close

Always great to see some HD Klingon Academy stuff, especially of quick battle matches. Also neat to see the camera used the way it is here.

But yeah, this looks good. Hope to see more if possible. :)

This game is beautiful!
It had everything a star trek fan could ever want and more!
The details that were in this game for the time were and still are kinda mind blowing!
Being able to manage pretty much every station, power level controls etc in real time, with real time damage is something that I will always cherish!
Being absolutely crippled and adjusting systems for damage control and the computer says 4hrs to repair is both heartbreaking and mesmerising!

And to think it's a relatively unknown game is boggling.

Bridge commander is still my favorite starship combat game but klingon academy is good too

It's funny that even though future starship games (even other trek games) make far superior ship models, it took a decade before anyone tried beating the complexity of the damage states that this game did. Most games copied it, but simplified it.

Could anyone help figure out how to make Klingon Academy work on windows 10? I have the full cd set and it won’t even launch beyond the launcher..
