“Our blackness and our womanness are not in themselves trustworthy if we allow ourselves to be conscripted into positions of power that maintain the
oppressive status quo.” Professor Ruha Benjamin uses her acceptance speech, for an honourary degree at Spelman College, to condemn administrators in Atlanta, also known as Cop City, as well as what she calls the ongoing genocide of Palestinians.

I fully understand why so many African-American people are pro-Palestinian. They have been fighting for equal human rights to this day, with the majority of them even being Christian. Very powerful speech.

Holy s***, what she said about the black American ambassador to the U.N. on how she voted against the ceasefires for Palestinians when most of the WORLD voted for it was something I instantly recognised when I saw it happen and I’m not even black.

When I saw that play out at the U.N. I was conflicted because I understood that Black Americans had historically faced similar persecutions in the past and how that Black Ambassador was able to vote against a ceasefire for the Palestinians will be a memory I don’t think I’ll ever forget…but luckily, South Africa will forever be remembered on the right side of history.

🫡 I salute this women for calling out the U.S. ambassador to the U.N.

Free Palestine 🇵🇸❤

It doesn't get more plain than that. This woman is a truth-teller extraordinaire! Look at EVERY black Republican for further reference.
