Could Killer Asteroids give birth to continents on Earth? Asteroids have a pretty bad reputation when it comes to Earth. But what if we say that the same asteroids allowed humanity to exist by creating continents on Earth. They are known for damage and destruction. They caused massive destruction, caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, and continue to sow panic even today. In fact, in their destructive power lies a creative power. A new study suggests that asteroids may have been behind the creation of continents on Earth and the eventual birth of life, ultimately leading to the rise of humanity. This is because no other planet known to us has continents. In a post written by study lead author Tim Johnson in The Conversation, he said: “We have studied ancient minerals from Western Australia and have found tantalizing clues that the giant impact hypothesis may be correct.” Asteroids could give birth to continents on Earth. Although technical geography is more difficult to understand, simply put, the Earth is divided into three layers – the crust, mantle and core. Among them, the crust contains the lithosphere, which includes the ocean floor and continents. And just below it is an almost molten mantle containing a lava-like structure. The theory was that the mantle gave birth to the crust. But for that, the mantle, which is in a high pressure, high temperature environment, must be able to release it and solidify to become a crust. And here asteroids come to the rescue. Massive city destroying asteroids will blow up huge volumes of the mantle and scatter it over a radius of hundreds of kilometers, which will then cool and form a crust, going through some intermediate stages. The researchers found two pieces of evidence for this. The first step was to measure the fraction of oxygen isotopes in zircon, the oldest known crustal material. The proportions in young zircon grains revealed a deep melting of the mineral, close to the state in which the mantle is located. There is another piece of evidence. Zircons from the Pilbara Craton appear to have been formed over several distinct periods, rather than continuously over long periods of time… The spherical beds are deposits of droplets of material “splattered” by meteor impacts. on the ground. The fact that the zircons are of the same age suggests that they could have been formed by the same events.

Could it be possible? May be. Everything and anything is possible.
