Just the first few notes of “Smile” and “Eternally” by Charlie Chaplin, were enough to open my tear ducts. I knew all those melodies and lyrics as a small child growing up in Johannesburg. “ Springbok Radio’s outstanding daily line up of programs were so enjoyable and were pivotal in our lives growing up in the restrictive Apartheid era. Springbok Radio went off the air many many years ago. Even though I have lived in the USA since 1976, I will always miss “Springbok Radiooo for Brighter Broadcasting.” Thank you for sharing these beautiful renditions of Charlie Chaplin’s music.

I have admired Charlie's compositions for sometime, but only today I learned that he wrote Smile (thanks to your videos).
I have listened to your recording of Smile at least 10 times by now, and it still makes me cry. You really know how to 'put Charlie' right into his song. As I listen to it, sad events of his life play through my mind, increasing my appreciation for how driven he was to help all of us smile despite life's adversities and heartbreaks. He certainly had more than his share, yet he continued to remain positive, upbeat, always entertaining. He was so much more than a clown. I'm glad you're bringing more of his genius to light.
The way you play violin melts my heart. It disarms me, it helps me to feel my feelings. Whether feelings of joy, elation, sadness, loss . . . any feeling is better than numb. If events in our life cause saddness, then we need to connect with those feelings, and music can be so powerful in helping us to do that. And then we need to recover and find a way to feel gratitude and joy again. Smile helps with connecting with all of those feelings.
Thank you so much for your music. (I want to purchase the album you made of Chaplin's music).

"Smile" es una composición de Charles Chaplin que utilizó como tema principal y banda sonora de la película "Tiempos modernos" de 1936. Posteriormente John Turner y Geoffrey Parsons añadieron la letra y el título en 1954.
