There actually were southern concerns about tariffs, taxation, protectionism. They mentioned them in the articles of secession, but they were minor concerns that were mostly overshadowed by the bigger issue which was slavery. Simply put, slavery was the main issue, tariffs and such were secondary. Without the main issue of slavery, their other issues alone would not have been enough to make them secede.

Let’s not forget that Lord Acton, a beloved forefather of liberalism that is celebrated in academia, among others of his ilk, fully supported the confederacy. Tells you everything you need to know about liberalism’s values.

Economists then : 2+2 is 5
Marx : The Economists are wrong. 2+2 is 4.

Economists today : We condemn Karl Marx for saying 2+2 is 5.

Awesome 👏🏽 job explaining the Marxist views on slavery and capitalism! Essentially slavery is necessary for capitalism to function, and not only requires cheap or free labor ideally but perpetuates it.

I want to tell Eddie that I'm confused, so he can vehemently disagree and tell me that I'm confused.

>English, English, English

It's British. Americans and their ignorance regarding other countries is so tiresome.
