Actually, I think that Santa Barbara gets a lot less tourism money from cruise ships than from people driving there, and the beach is the biggest draw. So the environment plays a big role in the city’s tourism business.

I absolutely agree that a cabin attendant should show concern about a "Do Not Enter" sign after a couple days.
Funny story....
But for a personal honeymoon cruise on a HAL Koningsdam, we had a letter stating there would be maintenance on balconies during a port day.
My wife and I thought, no big deal.
Until, afternoon when we were (napping) a painter barged through our balcony straight through our room and out the front door.
No complaints. I hope he got a laugh as much as we.

I cruised with MSC a few years ago. We were very happy with the ship and crew. I look forward to traveling with them again. Asia is definitely a bucket list trip.

Interesting - now I know why my friend that just came off a California coastal cruise and was to go to Santa Barbara originally but when she was on the ship they didn't go to Santa Barbara - it was changed.

Hi Don. If you fancy a preview of the ‘Cliffhanger’ swing next time you get to Amsterdam Cruise Terminal go across the River I’m on one of the free ferries and go to the top of the Adam building. Same idea as Cliffhanger only The Scottish Don!
