My recently divorced mother courted and eventually married a doctor. I was 7yrs old when this fiasco began. The practising GP would hoard drugs he purloined or got gratis from his favourite Medical Rep, around my home. My elder siblings made note of this and began to sell for mentioned drugs to school mates etc, the GP took a cut. The "doctor" ended up in Durham prison for forging prescriptions. My mother was eventually dumped for a newer model but the scars remain. My brother Keith, died at 32yrs as a result of drug abuse and my eldest brother, Ian, hung himself at 45yrs for drug and alcohol related issues...I still struggle. Doctors are just people and not all people are to be trusted as we know.

There are three things that concern me with this case. 1. No parent would ever leave their children alone to go out and have a meal. This applies not only abroad but here in the U.K. as well. 2. The amount of time and money spent on this case over the years. 3. I feel so sorry for all the other cases where a child has gone missing and the parents do not get 1% of the support these two are getting and have had.

How these two parents have not been charged with neglect is beyond me.

When the mother wrote in her book about Madeline’s “perfectly formed genitals”, I was disgusted and thought what kind of mother writes these things about her baby.

The big unanswered question is "why did the UK government get involved?

Oh my goodness, that was some powerful example. Someone stole my dog years ago. I thought was he being fed, was he cold, etc. constantly. I got him back after 40 days of searching. Mine was just a dog, but the feeling and questions were strong.

In the days after the child ¨disappeared¨ the McCanns played tennis for hours daily. At the time they explained that it was their way of dealing with the situation. All I know is when your child goes missing, the last thing any sane parent wants to do is play tennis. The McCanns started the Maddie Fund to raise money which they then used to lawyer up to protect themselves from in-depth investigation. They also used it to sue the Portuguese investigating detective who believed them guilty and wrote a book about the case. I understand they also paid off their mortgage out of the Maddie Fund. So why exactly did the UK press, police and government cover up for them, and continue the pantomime of investigating, year after year returning to Portugal on public money, finding fresh false suspects to prolong the cover up? Isn´t it about time the McCanns were arrested and the public told the truth?

When I was 19 I did some electrical work on a house and that night the house caught fire and 3 people died. It was a student house and I was downstairs and escaped, as did another 2 of us. The police took us survivors to make statements, I was totally convinced that I was responsible for the deaths of the three lads and I totally accepted that I was going to jail for many many years and had zero concern for my own fate.. I started telling the police about what I did and they were not interested, it turned out it was arson and sometime came into the house in the night and deliberately lit a fire under the stairs. My point here is that even if a normal person thinks they have caused the death of friends or family the last thing that person thinks about is themselves of protecting their reputation or future. The sense of anguish and guilt takes over and self preservation is the last thing on your mind.

If the mother really believed that Maddie had been kidnapped, why did she leave the twins alone in the same room where Maddie disappeared to call for help?

Shaun is a great interviewer. He allows the guest to talk without interrupting, ( very rare ), and listens to what they are saying. 👍🏻

I watched an interview with the McCanns and the interviewer asks them ‘how can the public help?’
My jaw hit the floor with Kate’s first response of ‘buy our book’! Wtf! This furthermore sealed my conviction that they were guilty! I felt it from day one and have never been convinced otherwise. The Portuguese government imo, screwed over their own police force instead of standing by them. They called it right from the very start and the British police should’ve either stayed out of it or at the very least investigated without bias!
Love Peter Hyatt and totally agree with him 💯. Poor madeleine may never get justice just as poor Jon Benet won’t either! 🙏🏻❤️

I saw this man’s original dossier on the McCann’s, with Rich Hall’s. It was limpid, simple & unquestionable, & I had no more doubt afterwards.
This man is a gem

Gerry said he thought the kids were drugged, then refused to let the twins' hair be tested. He also said - a few days after Madeleine disappeared - they'd have a celebrity memorial at the first year anniversary of her disappearance. How did he know she wouldn't have been found a year hence?!

Why is the UK government and other governments wasting their time and resources on the "search" for this particular case when others get nothing, what makes this worse is there is a high probability the parents are involved and have not been properly investigated at all.

I've long thought the parents should have been charged for neglect. The holiday club they were staying in had a babysitting service. Why didn't they use it? Also why did she wash the cuddle cat? A toy that Madeline slept with every night that would have still had her aroma and would have been highly useful for search dogs to pick up her scent. A mother who's daughter was missing wouldn't be thinking of washing her items. She'd be out searching for her with the police. Not doing PR strolls for Sky News.

The cover up of this case is infuriating

Kate refused to answer many questions, They refused a reconstruction, refused lie detector tests, not exactly the actions you would expect.

When the famous sniffer dog reacted positively indicating that a body had been present behind the sofa, in the cupboard and in the car boot, I remember wondering well whose body was it if it wasn't that little girl's...but the UK press wasn't interested...

What I think is highly suspicious is: the dogs alerting to inside the apartment and the car they hired. That the father played tennis after this happened while they were there. That they have refused to take a lie detector test.

Hi Shane, why haven't the McCann's faced any criminal arrest for simply leaving their 3 children alone in their hotel room? Because if a working class parent or parents did the same thing, not only will they kids get taken into care they will be arrested.
