Hide a “Tile” locator on the tractor and anyone near it with the Tile app will ping the location. Better for stuff that ends up in a city but may be a cheap solution. I hide one in my headrest of my truck! Also will help you remember where you park!

I would love to something like this to at least be able to do a forced regen. We rented a Kubota track loader and even running wide open it needed a regen every day. The rental company needed to send a service guy out multiple times and it was brand new. It was cold as hell though, but still if the bugs were worked out of the emission crap it shouldn't have been an issue.

Sounds like a good idea but now if the tractor battery is dead or unhooked, wouldn’t that disable the tracking. Unless the units have a built in battery backup. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this.

Interesting April 1st video that's real, but about as scary as it is useful. The theft prevention and data availability is great, but it raises the questions (in my mind at least) of: who all gets access/ownership to/of the data? and how secure is the background software/network? would be rather ....unpleasant to have an expensive machine bricked by ransomware or other unfriendly actions.

And at what point will the insurance companies lower their rates to account for the fact that we, the owners, are paying to have tracking for our equipment, which lowers their claim payouts? I have asked my insurance company about this... answer: great idea but no rate reduction.

I would like one of these for my mini. My question is, though, from a theft standpoint what happens if the thief knows to look for this technology and simply unplugs it? Are there built in software safe guards to prevent the machine from running if this device is unplugged unless the machines computer is reset (or something similar)?
